Assignment description

Assignment - Library Research
The goal of this exercise is for you to become familiar with the library resources in general and especially the journal resources. There is no easy way for you to demonstrate that you have this skill so we will do the following.

Choose two articles on one environmental topic that interests you but and make sure the articles come from different journals.

  • One of the sources must be Alternatives Journal, or New Scientist.
  • The second article can come from an academic journal of your choice

The choice of topic is yours but try and stick with one of the themes we will be working on this term (human populations, atmospheric problems, forestry, agriculture and northern contaminants, sustainability in general).

Write down the complete citation for each article using an acceptable citation format (I suggest you read over my notes regarding the importance of making proper citations). Then give a short half page summary (100-150 words) of what each article was about. Use your own words and avoid plagiarism. Do not submit the actual article – I will use your citation to track it down (so make sure it is accurate).
